Gaictech Strengthens its International Presence at Major Industry Fairs

The first half of 2025 has been a significant opportunity for Gaictech’s international projection efforts. Throughout the first six months of this year, we have bolstered our presence at key events and fairs in the canning and fishing industries. This engagement has allowed us to connect more closely with our clients, explore new projects, and uncover the latest trends shaping the sector today.

Salon Halieutis, first destination in 2025

Our first stop was the Salon Halieutis in Agadir (Morocco), a key event for the fishing sector held in February. The seventh edition of the event recorded a record attendance with nearly 65,000 visitors, significantly surpassing the initial prediction of 50,000. Gaictech participated among more than 520 exhibitors from 54 countries, including delegations from South Korea, the United Kingdom, India, and the Sultanate of Oman, who attended for the first time.

Despite the delicate situation in the fishing sector due to declining catches, the Salon Halieutis served as a highly interesting meeting point with many of our international clients. In Agadir, in addition to strengthening ties with the main companies in the fish canning sector, we initiated discussions to collaborate in the future and establish potential joint ventures.

Djazagro, meeting point for the Food Industry

In April, we had the opportunity to participate as exhibitors in the professional fair Djazagro, which took place at the SAFEX Exhibition Palace in Algiers (Algeria). As the most important event for the agri-food industry in North Africa, Gaictech was among more than 650 exhibitors from 36 countries, with over 23,000 accredited professionals.

This edition focused on the packaging sector, recognizing its strategic role in the transformation and distribution of agro-food products. Therefore, it was a perfect opportunity to present Gaictech’s solutions for the canning industry, not only for raw material processing but also for subsequent sterilization and palletizing. There, we were able to lay the foundations for new projects and strengthen bonds with our customers in the region.

SeaFood Expo Global Barcelona: an unparalleled showcase

Gaictech was also present at the world’s largest and most diverse seafood trade show: Seafood Expo Global, held in Barcelona, Spain, this May. The event welcomed over 35,000 seafood industry professionals, with Gaictech exhibiting alongside more than 2,100 companies from 87 countries. To highlight the scale of the expo, it’s estimated to have generated over €156 million in economic impact for the city of Barcelona.

For Gaictech, the event was a fruitful meeting point with customers from around the world: Algeria, Tunisia, Ecuador, Chile, Peru, Mauritius, Morocco, Kenya, Mexico, and France, among others. From this 31st edition of the SeaFood Expo Global, new and exciting projects emerged that we are beginning to shape.

In summary, the first half of 2025 ended with a positive outcome for Gaictech, with future projects underway and a strengthened international image.
